Having combination skin, I am always on the lookout for skincare products that help tame excess oil in my t-zone area. I have been a fan of The Body Shops Tea Tree Range and still use items from this range today, predominantly their foam cleanser. But when I went into the store on my last visit, I came across their Seaweed Range and after discussing my skincare needs, I knew I had to try it.
I picked up four items from the range which were the Deep Cleansing Gel Wash ,Pore Cleansing Exfoliator, Oil Balancing Toner and the Oil Balancing Clay Mask. I thought it would be really good to have a few items working together whilst testing, rather than a single product. The gel wash is very mild and gentle on the skin which allows me to use it daily without leaving my skin feeling too dry. The scent of this is also quite nice which is always an added bonus. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the exfoliator as the scent to me is really off putting and this prevents me using this as often as I should. The product itself is great with a generous amount of jojoba beads that work into the skin without feeling too harsh. I have used some exfoliators previously and the beads just feel too rough so it is nice to have a good balance.
Unlike the toner from the Tea Tree range, this product feels great on my skin. It is very gentle and doesn’t leave any of the dry areas on my face with that tingling sensation. I often use this after I have cleansed by dabbing it on a cotton pad and wiping all over my face.
This clay mask is my favourite product from the whole range! As soon as I purchased this, I put the Loreal ones down immediately and can’t say I have looked back! The consistency, the scent and oh my, the feeling of my skin once this mask has been removed is just ah-maz-ing! I try to use this once a week and although my skin feels great afterwards, I haven’t seen any blinding difference to my skin generally although I would still recommend this mask.
Overall, I am pleased with the Seaweed Range and I am glad I purchased it. After using all four products which I have been trialling, my skin feels much cleaner and fresher and I will continue to use this range. Although my skin does not appear that much brighter, by using this range regularly I noticed a difference in the level of oil in which my skin produces. It hasn’t stopped completely, but it has reduced considerably. I found that with the Tea Tree range, the mattifying lotion worked wonders on my skin throughout the day so it may be an idea to add this product to the routine *Bodyshop I would happily accept any gifting #PRRequest* hahaha! I think finding the perfect skincare routine is something I still need to master but I am impressed with these products, especially the mask!
What are your holy grail skincare products? Have you tried this range before?
