YSL Black Opium is one of the most raved about perfumes of late (since La Vie est Belle) and I can see exactly why! I am in LOVE with this fragrance and if you enjoy floral/vanilla notes, you would be too! After going into Boots countless times with my colleague, she knew how much I loved it and I was fortunate enough to receive this gift set as a birthday present *big smiles*
My first impressions of the gift set were that it was packaged well and had a slight glitz and glamour feel to it with the box and bottle decorated in glitter. The black box with rose gold lettering also presented quite a luxurious feel. What I really loved about this gift set was the fact that it came with a red lipstick! The lipstick packaged in gold mirrored casing is perfect for adding a touch of high end to any clutch bag. Who needs an excuse to buy another red lipstick? Not me, and although this was a birthday gift, it is perfect for all occasions. Especially this period of valentines, if you need to hint to bae or if you simply want to treat yourself, this fragrance is ideal.
YSL Black Opium – The Fragrance
The fragrance itself is very sensual yet sophisticated, to me it screams grown and sexy! Anytime I have worn this fragrance I get asked what I am wearing. As I typically love any fragrance which contains notes of vanilla, this was easily going to make its way into my collection. Along with the sweetness of vanilla, there is a strong element of floral notes, however the black coffee is what dominates the scent overall giving the fragrance a sweet yet earthy feel. The fragrance is very long wearing being eau de parfum so a little goes a long way. I tend to top up my scent throughout the day anyway but that is down to preference.
Overall, I am super happy that I received this as a gift as it is my current favourite perfume! The lipstick will feature in another blog post later this week keeping in line with the valentines theme so be sure to check this out at the end of the week. What are your favourite fragrances? Do you own this or any other Black Opium fragrance?
Thank you for reading and hope to see you on my next post!
