Today’s post was a bit random but that’s what I like about blogging, there are no rules! This post has actually come about because I myself wanted some blog photography inspiration. In one of my recent posts I talked about my blog photography and how this is something I want to improve on this year. It can be quite daunting at times when you do not have a creative eye but do have great ideas which aren’t always executed well because of lack of creativity.
Being a blogger and using Instagram as one of many platforms can feel like a constant rat race because it’s ALL about your images. If they are not consistent and pleasing on the eye, followers will leave your ass in a heartbeat! Maintaining a ‘theme’ or a ‘feed’ proves difficult when you have run out of ideas or simply have nothing new going on leaving you with nothing to post. I know I can’t be the only one that feels like this but here’s what I do to get inspiration:
Read other blogs
There are so many amazing bloggers around that you must have your favourites. One thing I absolutely love is coming across new blogs which are right up my street and this comes from engaging with others and networking. As bloggers we can learn so much from each other, sharing ideas and experiences, most of which are documented through blogs. No I am not saying go and copy your fellow bloggers work, but rather read various blogs, take inspiration and put your own spin on any content that you produce.
You know what I was saying earlier about aesthetics? This is all too true. This is one of the main reasons why you click follow on an Instagram page, because you most likely have seen someones pictures which you admire. Using hashtags is a good way to discover new content for inspiration, #flatlay, #beautyblogger, #style, whatever you are looking for, there is a hashtag! I like to browse through Instagram profiles to get new ideas for photography shots (angles etc) use of props, outfit inspo, home decor inspo even food inspo (restaurant recommendations) Instagram has it all!
I literally signed up to this today so still finding my way around it. So many bloggers refer to this for inspiration as it is like an online mood board. Pinterest allows you to save images which you like on boards that you can come back to at any point in time which I quite like in comparison to Instagram for example. When you are stuck for ideas, Pinterest can encourage a positive burst of creativity and maybe help to recreate an image you have seen. The above images came about because I had the products but didn’t know how to piece them together to look eye catching #Pinterestdidthat lol!
These are 3 ways that I have found help me when I am stuck in a creative rut! They are probably very standard to most bloggers but I never used Pinterest until today and I find it really useful so just thought I would share. What ways do you feel inspired to blog?
Thank you for reading and hope to see you on my next post!
Keep up to date with me on Social Media and come say hi!
