If you haven’t seen the range of brushes from Spectrum where have you been? Spectrum have some of the most gorgeous brushes perfect for that blogger Instagram pic – you know what I am talking about and if you don’t, see some of my favourite Spectrum brush sets here and here! In all seriousness, their brushes are so eye catching you would want to add them to your collection for aesthetic purposes alone! I on the other hand purchased this 8 piece blending set to practice my skills with some of my favourite eye shadow palettes!
8 Piece Eye Blending Set
It may sound weird to you guys but initially I wasn’t keen on the appearance of this set, (it kind of freaked me out) but it has grown on me over time. As many of you know, I am not someone who wears make up everyday and this blog was partly created for me to express my journey into the beauty world which delves into skincare, makeup and also makeup tools. Having only worn eye shadow on ‘special occasions’, I didn’t know how to do a lot with my eye makeup and to an extent today still don’t (winged eyeliner? #epicfail) but what better set to practice with than this one from Spectrum?
As the name suggests, there are 8 brushes within this set which Spectrum believe are all you need to create beautiful eye makeup looks. Retailing at £29.99 the brushes come in at just under £4 per brush which I feel is great value for what you are getting. It just so happened to be even cheaper for me as the guys at Spectrum gave me an additional 25% off the original price. The brushes are vegan and cruelty free and this set includes the following:
- A07 – Stubby Shader
- A08 – Medium Fluffy Shader
- A12– Fluffy Pencil
- A13 – Short Smudge
- A16 – Precision Crease
- B04 – Small Angled Shader
- B06 – Tall Tapered Blender
- C06 – Tulip Eye Contour
The set contains a variety of brushes to create different looks. As I still have a long way to go before I can create a bomb eye look, what I will say is that the brushes are extremely beginner friendly with each individual brush serving its purpose. I never used to think there was much to eye shadow application, one shade, one swipe and your done but this set has enabled me to step outside of my comfort zone packing more colour onto the lids and blending with ease.
These brushes will definitely feature on the blog a lot more as I become an eye shadow pro! Have you used any of the Spectrum Brushes? If not, what eye set do you use and would recommend?
Thank you for reading and hope to see you on my next post!
