My Search For The Perfect Nude Lipstick

I’m sure many of us ladies are all on the hunt for a perfect nude lippy especially as we are transitioning into warmer weather! I find as a woc it’s quite difficult to find products on the market for my complexion. I have come across 3 on my search that were quite close matches for me and I wanna share these with you today.

Firstly can I just say I finally bought a Mac lipstick! Well two actually, on my most recent trip I picked up a few bits from Mac at duty free. The two colours I picked up were Verve and Sin which you will see more of in another post.

The first of the nude lippies above is Mac in Verve which retails at £15.50 although I paid slightly less in duty free. This is in a Satin finish and applies on the lips very easily. The smell is very sweet and reminds me of cocoa.

It is very durable and I only have to top this up a few times throughout the day, mainly after eating as I like to reapply (probably more than I need to). Although it appears quite browny, it applies as more of a pinky/nude which is quite warming to the face giving a soft playful look.

The second is a nude from Revlon in the colour Mink – 671. I first saw this on a YouTuber and was desperate to give it a try, but it was really hard to get hold of for a while in local drugstores. This is a great option at only £7.99 and again has quite a smooth consistency on application. I find that this is the most brown out of the three giving me the most ‘natural’ make up look.

Last is one of my favourites from Rimmel in the shade 48 which is part of the Nude Collection by Kate Moss. I love Rimmel lipsticks generally, the shades, the consistency, durability and their affordability. This is only £5.49 and I feel this is a close dupe of the Mac Verve lipstick. If you don’t want to jump right in spending £15+ on a lipstick, you can always pick up this Rimmel one instead. Again, this appears as quite a pinky/nude rather than brown.

I picked up two lip liners in addition to the lipsticks – Revlon Colour Stay Nude and Rimmel Lip Tint 47 – Cappuccino. I feel lining your lips can make a huge difference when applying lipsticks, especially with a nude lipstick. I applied one of the nudes without a liner and felt like I resembled an oompah loompah until a friend recommended using a liner perhaps in a darker shade, I think more chocolatey than the ones above. These can also be worn all over the lip and the Rimmel especially as a matte option.

Below are swatches of all the above. Although the lipsticks appear shimmery below, it doesn’t look like this on the lip.

L-R  Revlon liner, Rimmel liner, Mac Verve, Revlon 671, Rimmel 48

Although I’m happy with my finds so far, I’d still love to find the perfect nude perhaps in a matte finish. Have you found your perfect nude lipstick? I’d love to hear from you below! Thanks for reading x

Those shades are lovely. And i couldn’t agree more finding a nude lip for W.O.C is like navigating a minefield! Danger at everyturn, ashy lips at sundown or washed out lips at dawn *sigh* I too am on the lookout but wowee to that Revlon shade but £7.99 I am properly struct when it comes to highstreet and £7.99 for a lippie brings out the miser in me hahaga but it is seriously nice so is the rimmel liner! Nyx have some nice nude shades for us darker skinned ladies but sleek doesn’t have many which suprises me x

I have got to try this. I have been on the hunt for a nude for years (literally). I have been using Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick which is the closest I’ve come to a nude however it costs an arm and a leg. I have to try your product recommendations at some point x
