Guys it’s been a while since I last posted so this will be a quick catch up as to where I have been, and as you can see from my picture it was somewhere hot!
If you have been reading my little blog, you would of seen from my previous post, I had a few places that I wanted to visit this year and Jamaica was one of them. I hadn’t been in 8 years and boy did I fall in love all over again, I didn’t want to leave!
I stayed for 10 days and went with 4 of my friends, but I can tell you now, if you are going anywhere longhaul 10 days is way too short in my opinion! I definitely could’ve done with a few extra days for sure!
The Hotel Grounds
From the moment we arrived at our hotel we immediately felt welcome by the hotel staff. The atmosphere was buzzing and had so many people in and around the lobby. There were people from all nationalities and all ages and you could tell the hotel was very reputable.
As weird as it seems, I didn’t capture many pictures but it was beautiful. Many people held weddings at the hotel taking their pictures on the grounds and also the beach to the rear of the hotel.
Now you gotta love the food in Jamaica! I’m sure all I did was eat, eat and eat some more! I dread to think how much I’ve gained not to mention the alcohol consumption! But hey that’s what holidays are for right?
On most days at the hotel we had a typical English breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausages etc but a few days we had a traditional Jamaican breakfast with ackee and saltfish, boiled dumplings and green banana. The best part after most raves was the jerk chicken served from a jerk pan on the side of the road! Mmmmmmm
Most nights there was a party whether it was in the hotel or close by elsewhere, my friends turnt up! The Jamaican nightlife is buzzing and the dancers were out in full swing! There’s a dance move for everything and honestly I mean everything! The latest craze was a dance called breadfruit would you believe, but it was just amazing to watch how talented they all are!
Whilst we were on holiday, we still took part in a few excursions and day trips and we really saw the beauty in the country. We went to a place called Mystic Mountain which was like a small activity centre where we could take part in the famous Jamaican bobsled and zip lining.
On the way up to the top of the mountain, we had to take a cable cart 70ft in the air above sea level, I was scared as hell so this helped me with my fear of heights. We got to the top to take part in the bobsled which was like a roller coaster around the park and it was so much fun! The views were amazing at the top and we admired the views with a cheeky cocktail in the restaurant afterwards.
Most of my holiday was captured on snapchat hence very little pictures, I had so many plans to do holiday OOTD but to be honest with you, I never had much time because the holiday was exactly that – a HOLIDAY. I took time out from social media partly because the internet connection wasn’t the strongest at all times and because I genuinely was having a good time being away – I will definitely take more pictures next time!
On my way I stopped off in Mac at duty free and bought 2 new lipsticks which are my first Mac lipstick purchases by the way and these are going to be featured on the blog shortly! I’ve had such terrible jet lag and have hardly blogged, but I will be back to posting 2-3 times per week, so keep an eye out!
