Places I Want To Visit In 2016

Hey my peoples! Happy Humpday! Only a few more days till the weekend *big smiles* I can’t be the only one who lives to see either day of the week starting with an S? I just don’t ever, ever get excited for a weekday lol.

Wanderlust. With the current weather in the UK,  (it’s oh so cold here) I wanted to write somewhat of a warm post and as I am flying out soon I thought I’d bring you all a post on places I would like to visit this year 🙂

Jamaica

I’m sure you have all seen those Sandals adverts of places you would like to visit with the white sands and clear blue seas on TV and before it’s over, you’re already wishing you were there.  Luckily for me, Jamaica is 1/4 destinations that I will be fortunate enough to visit this year and will be glad to grace the soils I call home, well, home away from home. For those that do not know, this is my motherland :-).

There is so much to do in this beautiful country in the main resorts of Ocho Rios, Montego Bay (also known as Mo’Bay) and Negril with Kingston being the capital of Jamaica. No matter what you are hoping for, Jamaica caters to all types of holiday makers with the endless water activities, boat rides, snorkelling and not to mention the caves and beaches. One thing I am looking forward to is the glorious food that will tantalize my taste buds from Jerk straight outta the pan to the Ackee and Saltfish I’ll be having for breakfast… Mmmmmm even thinking about it is making my mouth water!

For those that are wanting to explore, why not spend a day at the Bob Marley Museum or on one of the many tours including the plantation and the Appleton rum tour – can I just say, if anyone wants to find me, this is where I will be! 😉 You have probably heard of the iconic Dunn’s River Falls which is one of Jamaica’s unique tourist attractions. Dunn’s River is a huge waterfall which you can climb but with caution as it is very slippery!

The second place I would like to visit this year is PORTUGAL! I have never been before and this has been on my list to visit for a while now. I think one thing I love about holidaying in Europe is that it’s so close and easy to get to most places in under 5 hours! I would like to travel to 2 places a year minimum, with 1 long haul and 1 short haul holiday and a cheeky city break (or 2) thrown in!

Portugal has a great deal to offer holidaymakers with its beautiful beaches, towns and villages. I would like to visit the ever popular Algarve which has a variety of bars to enjoy the nightlife, hotels catering to all needs and not to mention the food (always comes back to the food haha) that I can eat in the restaurants whilst there. With a love of seafood I will be delighted to indulge in the Portuguese cuisine.

Berlin

Last on my list of places to visit is Berlin, the capital of Germany! Now when I was in school I studied German which wasn’t the typical language compared to French or Spanish at the time however I thoroughly enjoyed the subject.

I would like to visit Berlin over a short period of time for around 4 days as I think it’ll give me enough time to see the beauty in the city. Although Berlin is renowned for its history, it is a modern city with an artistic atmosphere and nightlife which I think would be great for a mini photo shoot!

Many tourists are drawn to the Brandenburg gate which is a popular landmark in Berlin today representing unity. I would love to see this at both day and night because beside what it represents I also think it looks very picturesque. Amongst other activities, I would like to view the city from the television tower in Berlin which will hopefully help me combat my fear of heights!

So that’s it! A few places I would like to visit (of course I would love to visit many more but I also need to think about my pocket..lol)  I hope you have enjoyed an insight into places I hope to visit this year. Have you been to any of them? Do you have any trips planned this year, if so where? Thanks for reading x
